About EFT

EFT is the key to emotional freedom

EFT is the key to emotional freedom and greater balance in your life. Developed in the 1990s by Gary Craig, this technique combines elements from kinesiology, osteopathy, chiropractic, and physiotherapy. EFT is increasingly being studied in scientific research, and the body of evidence is steadily growing. The goal of EFT is to neutralize the emotional charge of traumatic events and negative memories by decoupling the stress response. This leads to a neutral or even positive emotional state, contributing to greater emotional freedom.

EFT Is Effective for All Types of Stress and Stress-Related Issues
This method combines cognitive therapy with exposure and acupressure or meditation, providing a powerful intervention that is highly effective, even for trauma treatment. Novet offers both Gold Standard EFT and Optimal EFT, the two official forms of EFT that are explained in more detail below.

How does EFT work?
EFT activates the relaxation response through gentle tapping on specific acupressure points or guided meditation while the client focuses on a stressful or traumatic experience. This process reduces the stress association and transforms the trauma into a neutral memory without significant emotional charge. EFT enhances emotional well-being, aids in trauma recovery, and alleviates stress-related physical symptoms, promoting a healthier and more balanced life.

Novet monitors EFT publications worldwide to maintain an up-to-date database of all available EFT research. Since 2002, EFT has been increasingly studied by over 200 researchers, including experts from renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Bond University, and the University of Zurich. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses confirm the effectiveness of EFT for both physical and psychological conditions. According to the standards of the American Psychological Association, EFT is an evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In South Korea, EFT has even been officially recognized by the government as a treatment for PTSD.

The evidence for EFT is steadily expanding into other areas such as chronic pain, stress management, and weight control. Research on EFT and its proven applications continues to evolve.
